Philips 21:9 aspect TV 'heist' commercial

Whoa. Check this out. A commercial for some new super-widescreen TV apparently being developed by Philips. Can't speak to the TV, but the ad is spectacular.

If the TV is anything like my former Philips DVD recorder, it will catch on fire and melt all over the carpet - and my DVD collection.

My last Philips TV had a slight but annoying-once-you-noticed-it tilt to the widescreen. Brought it back and the next one was worse. The third one jumped me in the parking lot, jacked my car and died in a shootout with the cops at the Mexican border.

I'm actually saving my pennies for that LED thing Samsung has out now.

Don't know what this is trying to say about the TV, and the commercial is very intriguing; but I'm really, really interesting in seeing this show, whatever it is.

I think it's just an attention-getter with no bearing on the TV technology. (The TV is a true Cinerama aspect type deal, so maybe they just cooked up something eye-popping?)

I don't think the ad is anything other than the "short film" shown, but I could be wrong.

SHI, then, after your nightmare tonight, you can rent 'Dark Knight' and keep the fun rolling! :-)
